Family policies
What families ask before a child starts.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever or a contagious illness stays home until they are well. If a child becomes ill at school, we call you right away and a teacher stays close until you arrive.
Drop-off and pickup
A child goes home only with the people on your list. We ask for ID at the door until we know you, and an adult always greets children at the door in the morning.
Late pickup
Please call if you are running late. We ask families to keep to pickup time, and we tell you at enrollment what happens when a child is picked up late.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Snack is set out by the teachers with the children. School day families send a lunch from home. We ask families not to send nuts. Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask privately once you enroll.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school closes for the usual holidays and for a winter break, and sometimes for severe weather. We tell families by text and email.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice before a child leaves, so a family on the waitlist has time to plan.
What to wear and bring
Send comfortable clothes that can get messy, a hat for the yard, shoes that are easy to take off, and a spare set of clothes for the cubby. Please label everything.
Screens and phones
Children do not use screens at school. Teachers keep phones put away during the day, except to call a family.
